This is a 4-week program for adults who have never skated before or have very limited skating experience. The following skills will be taught: balance, getting up and down, the fundamentals of a stride, stopping, and turning. Each session is 50 minutes.
Note: Participants require skates and a CSA approved helmet. If you do not have a hockey helmet a bike or ski helmet is acceptable.
This 4-week program focuses on basic hockey skills including skating, shooting, stickhandling and passing. Full hockey equipment is required. There is a maximum of 8 players with 2 instructors and each session is 50 minutes.
These classes are open to men and women who possess basic skating skills, meaning they can take strides with both feet and have some idea of how to stop or slow down.
This 4-week program includes shooting and power skating instruction each week. The focus of the shooting portion of this program is mainly wrist shots and slap shots with a focus on technique, accuracy and quick release. The power skating focus is on edge control (inside/outside), forward/backward skating, balance and transitions. There is a maximum of 6 players with 1 instructors and each session is 50 minutes.The program is open to both men and women who currently play recreational hockey.
